Define the Required Machine
Start with the job, machine category, preferred model or weight class, year range, budget, quantity and destination port. This prevents unsuitable stock from entering the quotation.
International Buyer Guide
A practical process for selecting the exact machine, checking its condition, comparing the full quotation and arranging international shipment.
Start With Evidence
Buying used construction machinery is different from ordering a standardized new product. Two machines with the same model and year can have different hours, repairs, wear and fitted equipment.
The safest process connects every important statement to the actual unit. Ask for current evidence, record what is included and make the final quotation specific enough that both sides understand the machine and shipping scope.
Five-Step Process
Start with the job, machine category, preferred model or weight class, year range, budget, quantity and destination port. This prevents unsuitable stock from entering the quotation.
Match the title and offer to the serial plate, current photos, model suffix, year information, monitor hours and fitted attachments of the actual machine.
Request a cold-start video and operation of the main functions. Review the engine, hydraulics, structure, travel system and high-wear components for that machine category.
Check whether the offer is EXW, FOB or CIF and what preparation, attachments, inspection, loading and documents are included. A low machine price alone is not the landed cost.
Confirm dimensions, loading method, destination port, payment stages and the evidence used for final acceptance before the machine leaves the yard.
Quotation Checklist
A useful quotation identifies the exact model and condition, currency, trade term, validity period and destination. It should also state what is included, what must still be confirmed and who is responsible for inland transport, port handling and ocean freight.
For CIF quotations, confirm the named destination port. Import tax, customs clearance, local registration and inland delivery are normally destination-side matters unless the contract states otherwise.
Buyer Questions
Not without comparing condition and total cost. Repairs, tyres or undercarriage, preparation and freight can outweigh a lower initial price.
Ask the seller to show the serial plate and a requested action or dated reference in the same video sequence, then match visible details to the photos and quotation.
FOB is useful when the buyer controls ocean freight. CIF can simplify freight comparison to a named destination port. The best choice depends on route, experience and local agent support.
